Freemasonry - On September 18th in 1793 | Worshipful Brother George Washington
On September 18th in 1793, Worshipful Brother George Washington and hundreds of Freemasons from around the capital district assembled to dedicate the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol Building in the traditional Masonic manner. Corn, wine and oil were poured upon the stone, as the brethren invoked the blessing of the Great Architect upon the building that would house the elected representatives of the new American republic.
